Zelensky to make appearance at Oscars amid Ukraine-Russia war

The Academy of Motions Picture Arts and Sciences is currently in talks with Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, for a video appearance during the show, The New York Post reports.

The Oscars takes place on a Sunday to celebrate the best films of the last 365 days.

The organisers of the Oscars are trying to do something in order to help raise awareness of the atrocities that are taking place in Ukraine.

This is even as they contemplated on inviting president Zelensky to make a video appearance and offer a speech that will be transmitted all over the world.

This Academy Award ceremony tends to always get political, it is often used to send messages to raise awareness on a large variety of topics.

This time, the message of peace will be clear throughout the entire ceremony.

However, the final decision about it is still being discussed by Academy officials.
