Controversial Ghanaian singer, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., popularly called Shatta Wale, has urged his countrymen to show some respect for Nigerians.

Speaking to his 3.2M Twitter followers in a series of tweets on Sunday, the 'Dancehall King' crooner revealed that this is because Nigerians are hardworking and they understand what musical talent means.

Shatta Wale's complement will come as a surprise to Nigerians following his feud with Nigerian singers, including Wizkid, and lately Grammy award-winning singer, Burna Boy.

Following the feud with Burna Boy, who amongst many other Nigerian stars visit Ghana frequently, President Nana Akufo-Addo, late last month admitted that the fracas between the two artistes could have caused a ‘diplomatic incident.’

"Apart from musician Shatta Wale of Ghana and Burna Boy of Nigeria threatening to spark up a diplomatic incident recently, Nigeria and Ghana have always been siblings. Even though we quarrel and disagree occasionally, we love each other," Addo said.

The dance hall singer had also recently fallen on the black book of Nigerians due to his comments during the #JollofWar between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Black Stars of Ghana in last month's double-legged World Cup Qualifiers.

However, while addressing his Twitter followers Sunday, he said, “Please can we just respect Nigerians for their hard work and stop comparing our lazy lifestyle to theirs.

“It’s shame people think Nigerians will come hard at me but see they are the ones doing the streaming because they understand what talent means. Ghana music is a shame.”

In a subsequent tweet, he urged Nigerians not to interfere as he slammed his countrymen.

He added, “So a man can’t talk to some foolish Ghana fans in peace?

“Nigeria pls ano come for una I beg (sic), I am talking to Ghana foolish fans association, I will come to you when I have beef over there please.”
