Actor and lawyer, Kanayo O. Kanayo has made an appeal to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) on the occassion of his 60th birthday.
According to the Nollywood veteran, the South-East is under siege as a result of the continued detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.
Kanayo also pointed out that the unofficial sit-at-home order in palce in the south-east is biting into the economy of the region and the nation at large.
The role interpreter tagged the video "My 60th birthday appeal to President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR @muhammadubuhari"
In his appeal, Kanayo said, "My dear President and father of the nation, Muhammadu Buhari GCFR Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria, I hope this message meets you well sir? My name is Kanayo O. Kanayo...
"Mr President sir, this is not one of those appeals orchestrated by people to lend their voices...I am not lending a voice sir.
"I am deeply pained by the loss of lives, wanton killings and general insecurities in the land.
"The South-East geographical zone is under siege, someone may tell you it is what they brought unto themselves, as a son reporting to you, unofficially, every Monday is a sit-at-home and every other day Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is to appear in court.
"My dear Mr President, the sit-at-home is very effective, even government vehicles are off the road, economic activities, sir, are paralysed...
"It has a ripple effect on the entire nation's economy, your Excellency, the buck stops at your table..."
