VIDEO: Burna Boy meets Diddy first time since creating Grammy award-winning album

Grammy Award-winning singer, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy, has finally met American music icon, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs for the first time in person since they created the ‘Twice As Tall’ album under the pandemic.

Diddy shared a video of their first physical meeting to his 18million followers on Instagram on Friday after they spent time cooking “Twice As Tall” via Zoom dues to the effect of COVID-19.

The duo worked together to create a 15-track album, Burna’s fifth studio album back in 2020 where Diddy acted as executive producer for the album that was released in August 2020.

WuzupNigeria reported that Burna lost his previous Grammy nomination in the category for the Best Global Music Album category to his ‘African Giant’ album in 2019 to Angelique Kidjo.

The ‘Monster They Made’ singer returned with a bang with ‘Twice As Tall’ to win his first-ever prestigious Grammy award at the 63rd Grammy Award ceremony in the same category, beat four others including the Malian band, Tinariwen.

The album featured the likes of Naughty By Nature, Stormzy, Chris Martin, Sauti Sol, and Youssou N’Dour.

After creating one of the greatest albums to come out of Africa with Diddy, the duo was unable to meet physically due to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic that brought the entire world to a standstill.

Sharing his excitement at the meeting, Diddy said that the relationship he shared with Burna Boy was a true brotherhood that was deeper than rap music.

“God is the greatest! Yesterday was the first time seeing my brother @burnaboygram in person since the pandemic and since we created the Grammy award-winning album Twice as Tall over Zoom! This shit is deeper than rap, this is true brotherhood, the two kings reunite! LOVE LOVE LOVE,z” Diddy said.
