ICYMI: Singer Ayra Starr celebrates hitting 1m streams on Spotify
Singer Ayra Starr, born Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, is celebrating hitting one million streams on Spotify.
The excited 19-year-old on Twitter on Wednesday made the announcement where she also thanked her fans for their support.
She said, “We just hitttttt 1million listeners on @Spotify. Thank you so much my people, thank you for supporting me , thank you God."
Since the release of her single, ‘Bloody Samaritan’ Ayra Starr has attained global success and has been nominated for several international awards including MOBO and MTV Awards.
‘Bloody Samaritan’ received positive reception for its message and production.
It peaked at number one on Nigeria’s TurnTable Top 50, making Ayra Starr the first female artist in the history of the chart to reach number one with a solo song.
Signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records, the 19-year-old caught the attention of the Nigerian audience with the release of her debut hit, ‘Away’, early this year.
In August, she released her debut album, 19 and Dangerous, which earned her the number 2 spot on Billboard’s Next Big Sound chart in the same month.
