It’s no longer news that the third wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Olori Silekunola Naomi, has announced her split from the monarch.
The Olori, who is also a prophetess, made this known in a lengthy Instagram post on Thursday.
Taking a peep into the life of the Ooni, WuzupNigeria discovered that he had been married three times and, for whatever reasons known to them, the women abandoned the marriage in mysterious circumstances.
The Ooni’s journey into holy matrimony first began in 2008 with his first wife, Adebukola Bombata, but what seemed like a ‘peaceful’ marriage soon started staggering on the brink of collapse after the monarch decided to contest the throne.
Seeing as the monarch didn’t intend to back down and she wasn’t ready to be in the limelight or take part in the traditional duties that would be required of her should he emerge the Ooni, their marriage hit the rock.
Meanwhile, the ELITES gathered that another reason for their split was the constant interference from the couple’s extended families, who alleged that there was no love lost in the relationship existed between Bukola and Oba Ogunwusi’s three sisters.
Their union lasted for seven years without children.
Shortly after his split from his ex, Oba Ogunwusi settled for a second wife in the person of Olori Zaynab Otiti Obanor, who hailed from the ancient kingdom of Benin.
The monarch soon tied the knot with Zaynab who became Olori Wuraola in 2016.
Although there were speculations that she was the reason for the split with his first wife, he paid no attention to the claims and she became the reigning queen.
However, their union was shortlived as Olori Wuraola who recently got accustomed to the razzmatazz of the palace wanted to opt out of the marriage.
She filed for a divorce in early 2017 but the documentation was finalised in August of the same year.
There was no record of any child born in the marriage either.
Meanwhile, in that same year, she broke her silence on why she ‘abruptly’ left the marriage without spilling too much in a lengthy Instagram post.
Wuraola described her relationship with the Ooni of Ife as an old chapter, and tagged her status ”a new chapter” aimed at fighting boldly and fearlessly for the rights of women.
According to the queen, “What I can confirm is that the Ooni and I are no more. I inhale love & exhale gratitude. My journey continues as a Humanitarian aiding women and victims of domestic violence & abuse with the United Nations. No matter how much time you’ve invested, no matter the use of media to silence & manipulate, no matter the circumstance, slander, embarrassment, threats and lies: Get out and seek immediate help!
“We have got to stop this culture of shaming and vilifying women with false stories of infidelity & nefarious behavior. The spreading of false information (through “sources” afraid to be identified) is the mark of cowards and a cover up for guilty parties to justify their horrific actions. There is absolutely no truth to the media circulated lies of infidelity and infertility- on my end.
“We’ve seen this movie before. Women being dragged in the press & blamed for everything under the sun. This behavior is unacceptable. I urge those involved to be mindful of their actions for the eyes of our Almighty God are always watching. The seeds of slander is a cancer that harvests to eat away the souls of the planter.
“The throne is sacred and the attempts to tarnish the name of a Queen, in defense or on behalf of a silent King makes all involved look terrible. Remain dignified in all you do. It’s not the end of the world, but the start of a new chapter and you must turn the page with grace. The world is watching.
“As I bid adieu to this chapter, my wish to you all is to step into your lives – boldly & fearlessly, the way God intended and live not just by words, but through example. The best chapter in our lives is the one we are writing now. Thank you for your love and support.
With peace, love & light, Her Highness, Zaynab Otiti Obanor.”
Even with the above failed marriages, the monarch once again found love in 2018 and tied the knot with Prophetess Morenike Naomi Oluwaseyi who soon became Olori Silekunola Naomi.
The monarch who seemed to find ‘peace’ with Olori Naomi, in an Instagram post on the 18th of October, 2018 praised her.
He said; “I waited patiently upon the Almighty the King of kings, he eventually did it in the midst of many trials.
“Shilekunola, Moronke, Naomi; the greatest Arsenal you can apply on this highly revered throne with many rules and regulations in the midst of undiluted tradition, heritage and culture is the "Fear Of God In You", which is the beginning of your wisdom on this throne of Oduduwa.
“You are welcome home my beautiful and adorable queen”.
However, in a sad turn of events, Olori Silekunola Naomi announced her split from the monarch.
