Veteran Hollywood actor, Frank Langella, has been fired by Netflix over a misconduct investigation into an allegation of sexual harassment.

According to TMZ, the investigation was launched after the 84-year-old actor had been accused of sexual harassment, including making inappropriate comments to a female co-star on set during work.

As such, the Oscar-nominated actor who is the lead of “The Fall of the House of Usher” Netflix series will no longer be part of the streaming giants' eight-episode limited series based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe.

Deadline quoting a source reported that it was "determined that Langella had been involved in unacceptable conduct on set. As a result, a decision has been made to recast the role of Roderick Usher, I have learned."

As a result of Netflix's decision to fire the actor from the set of “The Fall of the House of Usher” which is about halfway through production, the scenes already filmed by Langella will be reshot.

The decision will not affect the production of the series and filming will continue with scenes not involving the Roderick Usher character until a new actor is cast.
