I lost $10k on first date with Cardi B, says husband Offset
American rapper, Kiari Cephus, popularly known as Offset, has revealed that he lost the sum of $10,000 on his first date with his wife, Cardi B, way back in 2017.
The 29-year-old Migos rapper made the disclosure during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday.
Speaking to guest host, Anthony Anderson, about the early days of his relationship with the 28-year-old “Up” rapper, Offset said he went big on their first date at the 2017 Super Bowl between the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots, according to MSN.
“My first date I went big. I wanted to do something that was not normally done,” he shared. “I wanted to have fun and not be so serious and enjoy the time, so I took her to the Super Bowl.”
Offset whose team, the Falcons, lost to the Patriots thanks to then-quarterback Tom Brady, added that “I lost $10,000 that night, but you know what I won? My wife.”
Offset and Cardi B are currently preparing to have their second child together, Offset’s fifth total. When Anderson asked if he planned to get Cardi a “push present,” he replied, “I feel like the gift is the child. I’m gonna get her gift though, I’d like to.”
The rapper who recently celebrated their daughter Kulture’s third birthday with a lavish party also revealed how he got his unusual stage name.
“As a kid I was always a little off,” he joked. “So, I knew I was gonna be on set, on camera, so I just put ‘set’ at the end so you got ‘Offset.'”
