English singer and songwriter, Edward Christopher Sheeran otherwise known as Ed Sheeran, has released his fourth solo album, entitled “=” (equals), on Friday while isolating for COVID-19.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, the 'Thinking Out Loud' singer had told his fans and followers that he had tested positive for COVID and had cancelled all in-person events to promote his new record.
“I’m obviously still in COVID isolation but please let me know what you think when it’s out. It’s the most proud (I’ve) ever been of a (piece) of work and I can’t wait for you all to hear it
“Gonna be having a solo party tonight and tomorrow to celebrate, blast it loud” he said.
Ed Sheeran has sold more than 150 million records worldwide, making him one of the world's best-selling music artists.
He has 84.5 million RIAA-certified units in the US, and two of his albums are in the list of the best-selling albums in UK chart history: × at number 20, and ÷ at number 34.
In December 2019, the Official Charts Company named him artist of the decade, with the most combined success in the UK album and singles charts in the 2010s.
