Former 2001’s Miss World and model, Agbani Darego, has advised her fans not to succumb to societal pressure, stating that time is very important in the journey of life.

She made the statement in an Instagram story on Friday after a fan in a question and answer session asked how she managed societal pressures at 35 without kids.

“How did you manage not to bow to pressue to have kids after 35? I’m 34 in 3 months,” she asked.

In response to the fan she explained that one has to be mentally, emotionally and financially ready for the journey.

“Hello, I have 2 kids and I had my first at 35+. My take, don’t do anything cause society demands it of you.

“Do it for you, in your time and pace. Kids are a blessing, but only if you desire them!

“And you have to be mentally, emotionally, (and financially) ready for that journey,” she said.

Meanwhile, WuzupNigeria earlier reported that the ex-beauty queen, celebrated the 20th anniversary of her emergence as Miss World.

She was crowned in 2001, making her the first native African to win the Miss World beauty pageant.
