Davido, Chioma lose three-year-old son Ifeanyi

Some Nigerians celebrities have taken to the social media to react to the rumored death of Ifeanyi Adeleke, son of popular music artiste, Davido, and his fiancee, Chioma Rowland.

According to reports widely published in major news outlets, Ifeanyi drowned in a swimming pool at Davido’s residence in the Banana Island area of Lagos State.

Ifeanyi, who was born in 2019, was reportedly submerged for a very long time before being located and transported to a hospital in the Lekki region of the state, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The incident happened on Monday night, a few days after his third birthday.

A number of notable individuals have posted cryptic remarks that purport to corroborate Ifeanyi's demise. Among them are the comedians Ayo Makun and Lasisi Elenu and the radio personality Daddy Freeze.

Makun, in an Instagram post early Tuesday, wrote, “The death of a child is unnatural, unfair, and tragic, this hit me so bad.”

Lasisi Elenu also posted, “Father heal your children’s heart from this pain, strengthen them in such a dark and hurtful time oh Lord.”

Reality TV star and actress, Rosemary Afuwape, said on her Instagram story, “My heart can’t take this. This is so painfully unbearable. Chioma and Davido please accept my condolences. No amount of words can comfort your hearts. I am truly sorry for your loss.”

Makun, in an Instagram post early Tuesday, wrote, “The death of a child is unnatural, unfair, and tragic, this hit me so bad.”

Ifeanyi's death rumor was first mentioned in a now-deleted late-Monday post by the actress Eniola Badmus.
