Media personality, Daddy Freeze has tackled Philanthropist, Adepeju Kokun, over tithing in Christendom.

Kokun, had in an Instagram post on Sunday, said that tithe payment is an avenue in which God's favor is secured.

He went on to explain that he didn't believe in paying tithe until he read some verses from the Bible before he understood the true meaning of tithe and since then he was set free

"Happy First Sunday in 2022

"So many years of my life, I am not in support of paying tithe until reading some verse and I understand the true meaning and it set me free

"Tithe payment is an avenue through which God's blessings and favour is secured

"When you pay your tithe, the church will have enough reserve to assist those in need

"You may want to argue that most churches don't do that yet. Yes it is true, But there are churches who reach out to their members in need

"I beleve overtime, many more churches will begin to reach out to their members in need. But let everyone begin to imbibe the culture of paying tithe and even giving more.

"If your current church doesn't show concern for the needy. Search for another place to worship.

Reacting to the Kokun's statement, Daddy Freeze said that the scriptural examples of tithing were done to the Levites, and this present form of tithing was never transferred to pastors, churches, or even general overseers, and money was never mentioned, it was always specific crops and livestock.

"Dear Kokun, your above write-up claims that tithing is an avenue through which God's blessing and favor are secured. Isn't that an indictment on the finished work of Christ on the cross?.

How much tithe did you pay to receive the unmerited favor of His death and resurrection? Also, kindly furnish us with scriptural proof of Christ our High priest (Hebrews 4:14, Hebrews 10:21), or the disciples our first G.Os collecting tithes from their followers and congregations?.

All scriptural examples of tithing were done to the Levites. This form of tithing was never transferred to pastors, churches, Bishops, or general overseers and it was never money, it was always specific crops and livestock.

The Levites were the descendant of Levi, son of Jacob and Leag. Now, just like you can't lay claim to the throne of the Ooni of Ife unless you are from a direct bloodline, neither can any Nigerian lay claim to a Hebrew bloodline. This fact alone clearly shows that no Nigerian is qualified to collect the Levitical tithes," he said in part.
