However, in a live interview conducted in the court premises by PUNCH and monitored by WuzupNigeria, Fabiyi noted that it was a shame that his colleague has not been allowed to speak for over two months.

Fabiyi claimed that he was not trying to support the crime Baba Ijesha is being accused of, noting that justice is not only for the victim.
He said, “It is also very important for us to understand as human beings that everybody deserves to be heard and the law is not just for victims, it’s for every human being and the more we understand that the better for peace and progress of this society because if we cont to treat ourselves like animals if the justice system of this country continues to hurt citizens, it would be very difficult for people to become our friends… the only thing that is chasing people away is how we treat human beings and of course, suspects.

“He has not been allowed to even speak for two months, Nigerians ask yourself, search your conscience, have you really heard from your fellow citizen on the accusation levelled against him?… whatever the case may be, If the law says to allow this person temporary freedom until he’s adjudged guilty, let us follow it, no sentiments because it’s a shame for two months, the entire world is waiting to hear from the suspect, nobody has heard from him, nobody knows what transpired, we only saw videos which perhaps looks to me as an individual as a doctored video and I’m still waiting to see what would be presented as evidence because it has gotten to a stage I can say that I don’t know the suspect.”
