One of Nigeria's Afro hip pop pioneers, Eedris Abdulkareem says with the manner the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) is fixated on issues in South East, security operatives may start arresting 'People for speaking Igbo' in the country.
Abdulkareem made the statement while condemning the arrest of Veteran Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu.
WuzupNigeria reported that Chiwetalu Agu was on Thursday, arrested by the Nigerian Army for wearing Biafran regalia.
When contacted, the Nigerian Army confirmed that he was arrested for inciting members of the public and soliciting support for IPOB.
In a post on his Instagram page, the 'Jagajaga' crooner Eedris Abdulkareem said Agu deserved to be honoured in the East for his brave act.
Describing Buhari’s government as insensitive, the famous rapper said, “No matter the kind of film Chiwetalu Agu acts he’s more wise and brave than other actors in the East and must be honored.
“People will soon be arrested for speaking Igbo in Nigeria.”
