Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi, on Thursday argued that the video evidence of the alleged sexual assault of a minor presented by comedian, Damilola Adekoya popularly known as Princess, against Olanrewaju Omiyinka alias Baba Ijesha was doctored.

WuzupNigeria reported that the comic actor was earlier arraigned on June 16 at the Yaba Magistrates’ Court on charges of indecent treatment of a child, defilement of a child, sexual assault by penetration, attempted sexual assault by penetration and sexual assault, where he pleaded not guilty.

However, speaking at the Ikeja Special Offences Court where Baba Ijesha is being arraigned on Thursday, June 24, Fabiyi urged for a fair judgment.

Fabiyi noted that the controversial case has reached a crescendo where he no longer knows who the victim is any longer.

Speaking during a live interview conducted at the Court by PUNCH and monitored by WuzupNigeria, Fabiyi who claimed that he was not a rape apologist, maintained that he only wants the suspect’s right to be protected in the quest to secure justice for the girl.

“He has not been allowed to even speak for two months, Nigerians ask yourself, search your conscience, have you really heard from your fellow citizen on the accusation levelled against him?… whatever the case may be, If the law says to allow this person temporary freedom until he’s adjudged guilty, let us follow it, no sentiments.

“It’s a shame for two months, the entire world is waiting to hear from the suspect, nobody has heard from him, nobody knows what transpired, we only saw videos which perhaps looks to me as an individual as a doctored video and I’m still waiting to see what would be presented as evidence because it has gotten to a stage I can say that I don’t know the suspect,” he said.
