Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D actor Vachik Mangassarian dies aged 78

Actor Vachik Mangassarian, best known for starring in Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D is dead.

He died at the age of 78.

According to his reps, he died of Covid-19 complications in Burbank, California, they told Deadline.

Born in Iran of Armenian descent in 1943, Mangassarian moved to the US in the 1960s.

Mangassarian’s first Hollywood role was in 1978 in The South’s Shark and he went on to appear in various TV series before landing a role in 2008 film The Stoning of Soraya M.

He would later feature in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D in 2013, as Qasim Zaghlul, an internationally renowned architect and one of the guests at Ian Quinn’s party in Malta in the popular series.

Mangassarian’s final role was in NCIS: Los Angeles in 2019.

He’s survived by his sisters, Linda Lalaian and Elda Hacopian.

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D starred Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson alongside Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, and Elizabeth Henstridge.
