EndSARS: We have not totally blocked Lagos-Ibadan Expressway – Protester
One of the organizers of the EndSARS protests has said that their activities have not caused a total blockage of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
In an interview with WuzupNigeria, the man who failed to identify himself said that traffic is allowed to flow on the expressway after every ten minutes of blockage.
“it is not a total blockage. We are releasing the traffic every ten minutes. There is better traffic compared to other places,” he said.
On what the protests have been able to achieve, he said:
“So far, we have been able to achieve the spirit of unionism, of oneness among the youth to channel our demands to the government. This is like the fifth day of the protest and so far it has been peaceful.”
He added that the protesters have received support from the Arepo community along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway where they are gathered.
“We have received support from stakeholders of the community in Arepo. And we have been able to sentisize the youth about the new Nigeria that we want. We are telling them that the reason we are gathered is not as usual. We are not gathered to vandalize any property. We are not gathered for any chaos. We are gathered to exercise and enfranchise ourselves as the citizens that occupy the greatest office in the land which is the office of the citizen,” he said.
