EndSARS: Nigerian lives matter, says Bishop T.D Jakes
US clergyman, Bishop T.D Jakes has thrown his weight behind the EndSARS protests in Nigeria.
The protests demand police reform and an end to police brutality in the country.
Supporting the protests, T.D Jakes took to social media with a post saying:
“Nigerian Lives Matter.”
He went on to share a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
It reads:
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to the Justice everywhere… Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”
Meanwhile, the demand from the protesters which calls for an end to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, has been granted by the Inspector-General of Police.
A new unit called the Special Weapons and Tactical Team, SWAT, has been announced to replace SARS.
