#EndSARS: Many celebrities to be arrested this week – Kemi Olunloyo
Journalist Kemi Olunloyo has said that many celebrities will be arrested this week over their support for the EndSARS protests.
It would be recalled that the Presidency said that celebrities will be made to account for the damage done to the country as a result of their support for the EndSARS protests which took a violent turn.
This was said by Garba Shehu, a Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, when he appeared on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
“Everyone witnessed the massive looting of public and private properties, particularly in Lagos, Calabar, Plateau, Taraba and some other states, even the FCT.
“Now, the laws of the country must be allowed to decide, to rule on wrongdoing on the part of just anybody. I am not particular about any celebrity or promoter but this country has been harmed enormously and people should be prepared to account for what they did,” he said.
In an apparent reaction, Kemi Olunloyo said that security operatives have placed a heavy surveillance towards the arrest of the celebrities.
“Many celebrities will be arrested before the week is over. Police and Army along with DSS are on heavy surveillance,” she tweeted.
“When I was advising some of you to flee Nigeria, you called me crazy not knowing the severity of the aftermath of the protests. EndSARS damage to cities.”
