#EndSARS: Division in military over handling of protesters, Reno Omokri claims
A former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has alleged that the Nigerian Military is currently divided over how to handle #EndSARS protesters.
The protesters, for over a week in major cities, have continued their cause in the call for an end to police brutality across the country.
In a statement on his official Twitter account on Saturday, Omokri claimed that the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai is “pushing for a shite scenario” where at least 348 civilians were killed, with 347 bodies secretly buried by the army in a masse grave, according to Amnesty International.
The Zaria massacre was a massacre carried out by the Nigerian Army in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria, on Saturday, 12 December 2015, against Shia Muslims, mostly members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria.
He, however, warned that if such happens, it will be the end of the army general and the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd).
“I just got privilege information that there is division in the military about how to handle #EndSARS protesters, with Buratai pushing for a Shiite scenario, similarly to the Zaria Massacre. Read my lips Buratai: If that happens, it will be the end of you and General @MBuhari!”
