#EndSARS: Burna Boy cautions against including tribal issue

Grammy Award nominee, Burna Boy has cautioned Nigerians from allowing the #EndSARS protests against police brutality become a tribal matter.

This comes after reports that the Obigo and Oyigbo areas of Port Harcourt asr under attack, allegedly by Fulani herdsmen.

In a since-deleted tweet, Burna questioned how the herdsmen were able to attack the areas in Port Harcourt.

He said, “Obigo and Oyigbo Porth Harcourt are under attack. @GovWike @riversstetegov please wake up. Please! How did Fulani herdsmen get to Port Harcourt?!!!”

After confirming that things were calm, Burna pulled down the tweet and said, “Thank God. My PORT HARCOURT people have called me and told me it’s CALM NOW. I Pray No Lives Where Lost.”

In a follow-up tweet, he cautioned people against breaking Nigeria into tribes.

“Please on NO account should this become a Tribal thing. I cannot even believe that can still be in people’s minds in 2020. FIX NIGERIA DONT BREAK IT INTO TRIBES.”

There have been recent reports of violence in cities across the country after #EndSARS protest was hijacked by hoodlums who have unleashed mayhem in some states across the country.

There have been cases of destruction of private and public properties in multiple states with numerous police stations, notably in Lagos, burnt down.

There have also been reports of jailbreak in Edo State as well as a foiled attempt at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility in Lagos State, on Wednesday.
