#EndPoliceBrutality: Olamide cautions police officers, begs Nigerians to stay safe

Music star, Olamide Adedeji, has cautioned trigger happy police officers over the incessant killing of citizens which has become a worrisome trend in the country.

Addressing police officers in a series of tweets the singer said killing innocent citizens will not solve the country’s problem but would only increase their troubles.

Olamide said he is so ashamed of the extrajudicial killings adding that we all can do better.

The “Woske” crooner further urged Nigerians to guard their lives jealously adding that there’s nothing more important in life than being alive.

Olamide further advised people to follow police officers to the station instead of engaging in a heated argument which may degenerate to violence.

Olamide wrote;

What is really going on,what is the way forward with this killing and police brutality? It’s increasing every day and I feel ashamed cause I know we all can do better. ?

“And for you oga police,no matter what you are going through just know taking an innocent life won’t solve your problem but add to your burden . We all can do better ?

“Everyone out there please try and be safe .. there’s nothing more important in life than keeping yourself alive.

“I think it’s better you follow them to station than get into unnecessary argument that might lead to violence. We all can do better.”

Recall that the Head of Police Complaint Response Unit, ACP Yomi Shogunle advised Nigerians that another way to avoid getting into “kasala” with the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) is to speak pidgin and not Queen’s English to police officers.

Olamide is one of the celebrities who has lent their voice to the call for an end to #PoliceBrutality.

Meanwhile, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the governor-elect of Ogun state has appointed music stars, Olamide and Eniola Badmus, as members of his Economic Transition Committee.
