Employ graduates who can think like perpetrators of crime, Donald Duke tells govt

Published

The former governor of Cross River State Donald Duke has advised government to employ graduates in the fight against crime.

Duke said that crime has now become sophisticated and therefore demands the employment of people who can think alongside the perpetrators.

The former governor said this in reaction to the killing of 43 rice farmers by Boko Haram terrorists in Borno on Saturday.

“The level of people we bring into the Force is a bit too low. (I think it is the school cert),” he said during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

He added that “crime is a lot more sophisticated than that.. we have a large pool of graduates who are unemployed. They should be recruited.

“We need people who can think alongside the perpetrators of the crime. We need to up the ante and train them and motivate them. There has to be an insurance scheme to look after them.”
