Nigerian teen comedienne, Emmanuella Samuel, has spoken out about longstanding rumours concerning her personal life, many of which she says are entirely false.

In an interview with Premium Times, the 15-year-old clarified several claims that have circulated about her over the years, including unfounded reports of pregnancy and marriage.

“There are lots of rumours out there. I have heard a lot, but I know the truth. There’s one where they said Ella was pregnant, that I was getting married, that I had married, etc., which are all false. There are so many unspeakable rumours, and sometimes I wonder where they come from,” she said.

Despite the rumours, Emmanuella noted that she remains focused on living truthfully and refuses to let public speculation dictate how she lives her life.

Among the various claims, she confirmed that one story — her buying a house for her parents at age 10 — is indeed true. She explained that the decision was made out of love and a desire to ease her family’s burden, especially the stress of living in a rented apartment.

She said, “The reason or motive was to make my parents proud, making everyone around me happy, no matter what; even if I was sad, I would make sure I put a smile on everyone’s face. I sensed it wasn’t right for my mummy to be staying in a rented apartment, that my family couldn’t be staying in such an apartment, so we came up with the idea of building a comfortable place where they wouldn’t be paying rent.”

The comedienne, who revealed she is the fourth child in a family of six, added that the decision to build the house was not driven by any external pressure.

“That’s how building the house came about. There are six of us in my family. I’m the fourth child. I did it (built the house) out of love. I don’t feel any pressure,” she said.
