The Emir of Kano, HRM Aminu Ado Bayero, CFR, paid a condolence visit to Kogi Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Sunday, following the demise of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, His Royal Majesty, Ado Ibrahim, CFR.
The Emir said he came to sympathize with the Governor, the Government, and the People of Kogi State over the loss of the revered monarch, who passed away peacefully on October 29, 2023.
Governor Bello thanked the Emir and the Emirates Council for their kind gesture and their solidarity in this difficult time.
He praised the late Ohinoyi, HRM Ado Ibrahim, for his remarkable and inspiring life, saying, “We are very grateful to you for your compassion and your journey from Kano to Kogi State. We appreciate this show of love.
The late Ado Ibrahim, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Sa’aki, was a noble man who touched the lives of his people positively during his reign.”
Governor Bello also reiterated his administration’s commitment to the welfare of traditional rulers in the state.
He assured that this commitment would be continued by his successor. Governor Bello highlighted the friendly relationship and collaboration between the government and the traditional rulers in Kogi State, with the aim of improving the well-being of the people.
Additionally, he acknowledged the peaceful relationships fostered by the late Ohinoyi with the Kano Emirates and traditional rulers across Nigeria.
Dr. Ado Bayero expressed the sincere condolences and prayers of the Kano Emirates to the governor, the government, and the people of Kogi State. He also lauded Governor Bello for building and maintaining strong bonds with traditional rulers within the state.
