Eminem’s latest album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce),” has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
This new album has knocked Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” off the top spot after 12 weeks.
Swift’s album, which came out in April, held the No. 1 position for three months, marking the longest time a female artist has held the top spot. According to Luminate, “The Tortured Poets Department” had 891.34 million streams in its first week, setting a new record for the biggest streaming week ever.
Taylor Swift’s album had previously tied with Morgan Wallen’s 2023 album “One Thing at a Time” for the longest No. 1 run of 12 consecutive weeks. Wallen’s album eventually spent 19 weeks at No. 1. The only album with a longer run at the top is Stevie Wonder’s “Songs in the Key of Life,” which stayed at No. 1 for 14 weeks in total.
Eminem’s “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)” is his 12th album and his 11th to reach No. 1. As a result of this debut, Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” has dropped to No. 4.
In the current chart, K-pop group ENHYPHEN’s album “ROMANCE:UNTOLD” is at No. 2, and country artist Zach Bryan’s “The Great American Bar Scene” is at No. 3.
