The Ekiti State chapter of the Association of JuJu Musicians of Nigeria has publicly endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s bid for a second term, praising his dedication to the welfare of the people and the overall development of the state.

The musicians, led by their chapter governor, Mr. Femi Apadidun, staged a lively endorsement walk to the Governor’s office on Monday, singing and dancing in celebration of the progress achieved under Oyebanji’s administration in less than three years.

They expressed a strong desire for his good work to continue through 2030.

Apadidun highlighted the unprecedented support the association has received from the current administration and pledged their full commitment to ensuring Oyebanji’s re-election. He said members would not only vote massively for the governor but also actively canvass for his support across the state.

“Our endorsement of Governor Oyebanji today is about the development of Ekiti state, it is about the welfare programme of the Governor. So, we have come out en-masse to come and show our support and solidarity as well as show our appreciation to the Governor. We are not here to ask for anything, we know that Mr Governor is a man who knows what is good, he will do us well. I want to assure you today that come 2026, we are returning Mr Governor back to Oke Ayoba,” Apadidun declared.

Receiving the group on behalf of the governor, Secretary to the State Government, Professor Habibat Adubiaro, commended the musicians for their bold public show of support. She described Governor Oyebanji’s developmental achievements as unparalleled in the history of the state.

Prof. Adubiaro also urged the musicians to obtain or validate their voter’s cards, emphasizing that their votes are crucial to ensuring the governor’s tenure extends to 2030.

“You are all here today because of the visible monumental achievements of Governor Oyebanji in the state, the achievements are innumerable. We appreciate you for the bold steps you have taking to come out in public to endorse Mr Governor for second term in office. As you have come today, we know you have band boys, you have families whom you planned to canvas to vote for Governor Oyebanji. But I must use this opportunity to enjoin you to collect or validate your voter’s cards as this is the only way we can realize the good plans we have for our Governor,” she stated.

Also present at the event were the Governor’s Special Adviser on Political and Inter-Party Affairs, Chief Jide Awe; Special Adviser on Gender Empowerment, Mrs. Kemisola Olaleye; Chairman of ALGON, Mr. Olusegun Ojo; and Director-General of Community Communications, Mrs. Mary Oso-Omotoso, among others.
