Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has dissolved the State Executive Council with immediate effect.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Habibat Adubiaro.
The affected officials, including commissioners and special advisers, were directed to hand over to the permanent secretary or most senior civil servant in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies.
Governor Oyebanji extended his appreciation to the outgoing officials for their service and wished them well in their future engagements.
The dissolution, however, excludes certain cabinet members.
The commissioners for justice (attorney general), health, education, works, agriculture, and trade were not affected by the shake-up.
Also exempted are the special advisers on special education and social inclusion, as well as lands, survey, and e-GIS.
“All directors-general who are members of the State Executive Council are to retain their positions,” the statement added.
“These are the director-general of the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery; director-general of SDGs and Project Monitoring; and director-general of Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP),” it concluded.
