Ekiti Central gets new Tutor-General
The Ekiti State Government has approved the appointment of Mr Temitayo Ilori as the new Tutor-General for Ekiti Central Senatorial District of the State Teaching Service Commission.
The Chairman of TESCOM, Mr Babatunde Abegunde, in a statement on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti said Mr Ilori’s appointment was recently approved by Governor Kayode Fayemi.
Abegunde said Ilori’s appointment also was sequel to the retirement of Mrs Margaret Omogbemi, his predecessor, who retired after 35 years in service.
He enjoined the new appointee to justify the confidence repose in him, stressing the need for him to brace up to the challenges of his office.
Abegunde charged him to key into the Educational Reform Development Agenda and Values Orientation of the present administration.
According to him, the appointment is based on merit.
Abegunde reiterated the commitment of the Fayemi-led administration to quality service
delivery and zero tolerance for nepotism.
He congratulated the retired Tutor-General for her meritorious service and wished her all the best in her future endevours.
In his acceptance remarks, the new Tutor-General expressed gratitude
to the state governor for giving him the opportunity to serve the state in the new capacity, He pledged to do his best to achieve the
desired goals.
Ilori dvised teachers to be diligent in the discharge of their duties, stressing the need for them to shun vices inimical to their progress.
Until his appointment, Mr. Ilori was the Principal of Ijanmodu High School, Ijan Ekiti and President of the Ekiti State Chapter of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools.
