EFCC Football Club of Abuja on Friday handed down a fourth consecutive loss to Oyah Sports FC of Suleja.
EFCC FC beat a determined Oyah SC FC on Match Day 5 of the ongoing 2021/2022 Group A1 game of the Nigerian National League season.
The game played at the Area 3 Football Pitch saw both teams trying to outweigh each other in the first half with all efforts to find the back of the net in futility.
With the commencement of the second half, coach Kabiru Sani of EFCC FC threw in fresh legs to shore up the attack and the initiative proved worthy.
Nansel Busa benefitted from a low cross from James Innocent in the 57th minute to score the first goal for the team.
Four minutes later, substitute Lucky Vandi’s shot at the top corner beat goalkeeper William Delima to record a second goal for EFCC.
Oyah FC thereafter tried to gain possession and aim for an equaliser with Nwanne replacing Djedje.
Nwanne looked threatening upfront as he sent in a great shot, aiming for the goal but Godswill Utum made a spectacular save to stop the opponent.
In the end, hosts EFCC stood still to claim a second win in five matches.
At the end of the game, Kabiru Sani, coach of EFCC, said he was relieved with the victory.
“Now, we are back to winning ways and it is a relief for the team,” Klopp said.
Asked if the team was under pressure, Sani answered in the affirmative, adding that they needed the win.
“It is a local derby. For three weeks now, we have been playing local derbies, we won the first, drew the the second and lost the third.
“Today, we know that we needed to win. I was a little bit tensed in the beginning of the game.
“I didn’t underrate Oyah FC, even though they are yet to win any game, but I was sure that my team would deliver,” Sani said.
On his part, coach Abdulrazak Mohammed of Oyah Sports FC, said the team needed to improve its mental state.
“We are doing everything possible to get out of this situation.
“The game today went well but I think the team needs to improve on its mentality. Losing all matches so far in the season is not a good one and can affect the players.
“So, we will try to correct a lot of things in the team before our next game,” Mohammed added.
