The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Enugu Zonal Command, has brought charges against Simon Udeani and his wife, Dorcas, before the Federal High Court in Enugu for land fraud where they were accused of obtaining the sum of N2,750,000.
The couple who faced a three-count charge for alleged land fraud pleaded not guilty.
The prosecuting counsel, Nurudeen Ingawa, requested a trial date, while the defence counsel, E.C. Nwauba Esq, sought bail for his clients.
Justice M.G. Umar granted the couple bail in the sum of N5 million, with one surety in like sum. The case was adjourned until February 6, 2024.
In a separate case, Johnson Aniekwe was arraigned before Justice Cyprian Ajah of the Enugu State High Court on three counts, including obtaining N9,170,000 by false pretence, forgery, and impersonation.
Aniekwe pleaded not guilty, and the prosecuting counsel, Nurudeen Ingawa, requested a trial date.
Defence counsel A.G. Anyigo requested bail for the defendant, and Justice Ajah granted the application. The case was adjourned until March 7, 2024.
