A Nigerian student was killed by a rival cult group during an election, last night, 9th of March 2018, at Chattarpur, New Delhi, India.
According to reports, the clash was between Maphite and Black Axe cult groups. Trouble started during the All India Nigerian Students and Community Association elections.
It was gathered that the Black Axe cult, to which the victim, identified simply as Hillary, belonged wanted to impose their member as the president, but the Maphites and other students were not having it.
According to various reports from India, the 30-year-old Nigerian was stabbed to death on Friday night, March 9.
Police said that after stabbing, all the assailants fled from the scene. The victim sat on a bench of a tea stall near the mandir. Looking at his condition, a passerby made a call to the police, efforts to save him, however, proved abortive.
Police claimed that the victim was residing in a rented accommodation in Rajpur Khurd village in Mehrauli.
According to a report published by the national daily, Indian Express, the DCP os south, Mr Romil Baaniya said,
“From the facts and inquiry so far..two group of Nigerians fought with each other last night .. one suspect (a Nigerian) has been categorically identified by injured, has been detained and is being interrogated..names of others have been shared by the injured…police is on a look out for them.”
