Edo election: Don’t run from debates – APC tells Obaseki
The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has told Governor Godwin Obaseki not to run from a governorship debate put together by Channels Television.
The APC said that Obaseki, who is running on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has a penchant for giving flimsy excuses to avoid debates.
This was made known by the Chairman of the Edo State APC Media Campaign Council, Mr John Mayaki, in a statement issued on Thursday.
He said: “Anyone that can prevail on Mr Governor to be present at the Channels debate should do so, so that he can rescue some of his chances of victory at the polls.
“His absence from two debates already has put people on edge. Why is he shying away from answering questions if he knows that he has truly done enough to warrant re-election?”
