The Edo State House of Assembly has ordered the lawmaker representing Egor Constituency, Natasha Irobosa, to appear before its Ethics and Privileges Committee within one week following a case of alleged misconduct linked to a trending video involving her and Nigerian singer 2Baba.

The Speaker, Blessing Agbebaku, announced the summons during plenary in Benin City. He said the lawmaker must explain actions that he believes have embarrassed the Assembly.

He said, “Hon. Natasha Irobosa has been summoned to appear before the Ethics and Privilege Committee of the Assembly due to her recent conduct, which has been trending online. This conduct drags the name of the House into the mud, and it is the responsibility of the members of the Assembly to conduct themselves well.”

Agbebaku added that the Assembly is made up of “cerebral minds and educated people who have been dragged in the mud for too long by our colleague.” He said members will not tolerate behaviour that brings the institution to disrepute.

The committee is expected to present its findings to the House within two weeks.

The summons comes after videos showing 2Baba, whose real name is Innocent Idibia, and his wife Natasha in a heated public scene in a UK store began circulating online. In the clip, Natasha could be heard shouting “don’t do that” several times while the couple argued. Another video from the same incident showed police officers at the location, which led to rumours that 2Baba had been arrested.

Reports claimed Natasha allegedly threw a bottle during the argument, marking the second similar incident linked to the couple. The clips resurfaced amid rising public interest in their marriage, which has been under scrutiny since 2Baba’s divorce from Annie Idibia earlier in 2025.

The saga intensified on November 30 during an Instagram Live session hosted by Daddy Freeze. 2Baba unexpectedly joined the livestream where his former managers were discussing his troubles in the UK. An argument broke out in the background between him and Natasha. 2Baba was heard shouting “shut the f*ck up” and asking “What is your problem?” before Natasha grabbed the phone and ended the broadcast. His ex-managers accused the couple of frequent quarrels over money, Natasha’s controlling nature, and her alleged negative influence on the singer.
