Edo 2024: LP aspirant advocates enhanced women’s participation

Published

A female governorship hopeful for Edo State in the upcoming 2024 elections, Dr Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor, has called for greater female participation in partisan politics.

Seeking the Labour Party’s nomination, Loretta expressed concern that many Nigerian women remain sidelined during electoral seasons.

She emphasized the necessity for women to assert their role in the political arena.

Her remarks came following her formal announcement to run for the governorship of Edo State, which took place at the Labour Party headquarters in Benin on Monday.

“A lot of women are always at the back door, it is time we took our place in the political space; we have to be at the table, so that we can shake it.

“We thank all our fathers who are standing with us to bring light to the state, we are happy that our fathers are ready to support us,” she stated.
