Edo 2020: Security personnel take over INEC office
The office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) along Ramat Park in Benin City, Edo State, has witnessed the presence of heavy security personnel.
The security personnel stationed at the premises which includes policemen and soldiers are fully armed.
Traffic is being directed to follow one lane while two Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) are station before and after the office.
Meanwhile, voting in the Edo State governorship election has commenced.
The governor of the state, Godwin Obaseki, is running for a second term on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
His main opponent is Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
