Ituen recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). He is alleged to have hired the thugs to disrupt the session and prevent his seat from being declared vacant over his defection to APC.
It would be recalled that Justice Fatun Riman of the Federal High Court in Uyo had ruled against Hon. Ituen over his defection and a copy of the ruling was, last week, sent to the House, which the Speaker, Onofiok Luke, was set to implement today (Monday).
This, it was said forced the lawmaker, Itu, to move towards stalling the action, while waiting for the outcome of his appeal at the Appeal Court sitting in Calabar, Cross River State.
