The Department of State Services has denied reports that it carried out a night raid on the Nigeria Labour Congress headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to reports, the DSS was alleged to have raided the Labour House, the NLC’s main office, around 8:30pm.

The NLC’s head of media and public relations, Benson Upah, said, “They broke in and ransacked the bookshop on the 2nd floor, carting away hundreds of books and other publications. The invading troops claimed that they were looking for seditious materials used for the #EndBadGovernance Protests.”

However, DSS spokesperson Dr. Peter Afunanya denied these claims. He stated, “Kindly note that the Service did not carry out any operation at the NLC office in Abuja.”

The denial comes amid ongoing tensions related to protests and government actions.
