DSS arrests 35 suspected ISWAP fighters
At least 35 Islamic State West Africa Province terrorist have been arrested days in the Federal Capital Territory days after teh US and the UK’s security alert.
The ISWAP terrorists arrested included fie commanders and 30 fighters, according to The PUNCH.
The arrest was made possible by a joint operation launched by the Department of State Services, the National Intelligence Agency, the police and other security agencies.
Reports revealed that the terror suspects were captured at their hideouts in various parts of Abuja, Mararaba, and other satellite towns in the Federal Capital Territory.
The arrests were made as tensions in the nation’s capital rose as the well-known Jabi Lake Mall on Thursday closed its doors to patrons and customers due to a security crisis.
The FCT Administration razed shanties on Law School property to curb criminal activity, claiming it was part of security measures.
It would be recalled that the UK issued a fresh security alert warning British nationals against visiting Abuja and 14 other states.
