DON’T MIND HATERS: NFF dismisses rumors about Nigeria, Zambia tie

Published

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has dismissed a report that it is broke and needs N85 million to execute the 2018 World Cup qualifier against the Chipolopolo of Zambia on October 9 in Ndola.

The denial was made via the football body’s twitter handle, @thenff.

The original report which was published by Guardian.ng had said NFF was shopping for N85 million to execute the 2018 World Cup qualifier against the Chipolopolo of Zambia. It had also mentioned that the NFF had in recent weeks been lamenting what an official described as ‘no cash’ situation to carry on their activities, particularly the fast approaching tie against Zambia. The news medium had quoted an unnamed official of the football body as the source of its story.

But NFF denied the story, describing it as blatant falsehood.

The body tweeted, “The NFF has dismissed a report that it cannot fly the Super Eagles to Zambia for a World Cup qualifier as blatant falsehood,”

“NFF President Pinnick: “We have concluded arrangements on movement to and from Zambia. Any talk of being unable to go is a big lie.”

“Some persons have perfected the art of concocting stories they feel people want to read about NFF and passing it off as authentic stories.”
