A Nigerian photographer and cinematographer, Oreoluwa Awolowo, has advised intending couples not to give room for anybody to rush them with activities on their wedding day.

Awolowo said family members and friends are fond of hastening couples to give more time to reception party and other activities like Church service, Nikkah and traditional wedding, giving them almost no time to create memories when they are taking photographs.

She added that other activities would not give them fond memories of their big day like photos and videos.

She wrote:

On your wedding day, don’t give room for anybody to rush you. Allow the photographers and videographers do their thing, take pictures, let them create memories of you. You won’t regret it, nobody will remember that 2hrs church preaching or alaga dragging your event.”

“You see those pictures, you will look at them later and smile. People will forget the food and drinks. Don’t let anyone rush you, take as many pictures as you can.”

Some Twitter users who reacted to Awolowo’s post were in support of her stance, saying while other activities may be quickly forgotten, the memories created with photographs and videos would last forever.
