More than a month since the last US presidential election, President-elect Donald Trump has come out to say why former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lost the most contentious presidential election in modern U.S. history.

According to one of the latest tweets by Trump, the Democratic Party candidate in the US presidential election “focused on the wrong states” during the campaign.

“Campaigning to win the Electoral College is much more difficult & sophisticated than the popular vote. Hillary focused on the wrong states! ,” Trump tweeted on Wednesday.

He added, “I would have done even better in the election, if that is possible, if the winner was based on popular vote – but would campaign differently.

“I have not heard any of the pundits or commentators discussing the fact that I spent FAR LESS MONEY on the win than Hillary on the loss!”.

This comes after Trump secured 270 votes in the Electoral College to formally win the United States presidency despite effort by anti-Trump forces to persuade Republican electors to abandon the president-elect.
