International Disc Jockey, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, aka DJ Cuppy, has announced her plans to sponsor ten students to the University in 2018 adding that one of them, “Akeem Owolabi is off to the University Lagos.”
Cuppy, daughter of Nigerian businessman, Femi Otedola, announced this tit-bit on her social media handles.
She wrote: “I plan to send 10 people to university this year and I’m so proud to say I have completed with my first student! Akeem Owolabi is off to Unilag! #Blessed.”
DJ Cuppy is one of Africa’s most celebrated DJs and had collaborated with entertainment’s stars in the Industry.
In a recent interview with NdaniTV, the 25-year-old said she cannot hang out with people who do not eat amala, an indigenous dish in Nigeria, adding that amala is the most amazing delicacy in the world.
In March 2015, Cuppy was named the official DJ for the 2015 Oil Barons Charity in Dubai and became the first African act to have ever performed at the event. She was featured in the 2015 April/May issue of Forbes Woman Africa.
Cuppy won the best female DJ at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards in 2015 and has also received other nominations.
In April 2014, Cuppy was appointed by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation as the tourism ambassador for the country’s “Fascinating Nigeria” campaign.
