A Chiweshe boy from Chaka village in Zimbabwe was on Monday caught red-handed raping a pregnant goat.
Iharare.com reports that the incident forced the village head to send the young boy to Chief Makope’s village court for trial.
Chief Makope, who was amazed when he heard the boy was caught pants down after neighbours heard the goat’s agonised bleating.
The boy was penalised with one cow and four goats which will be given to the owner of the abused goat.
Chief Makope said he did not tolerate such a disheartening behaviour, hence people who violated Ubuntu should be judged harshly.
He said,
“What the boy did is not acceptable in the society and people who do not respect our tradition in such a manner should be treated harshly that is very wrong especially considering his age.”
Reports said the raped goat was killed and burnt as it was no longer good for human consumption.
