The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has said the jewellry seized from a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, has been valued at about N14.460bn.
The Chairman of the EFCC, AbdulRasheed Bawa, Friday mentioned this to the House of Representatives.
He told the House probing the status of Diezani’s recovered loot at a hearing that the “estimated value” of the forfeited jewellery is N14.460bn, the PUNCH had reported.
He added that the total forfeited houses by the ex-minister have also been valued at about $80m.
Members of the committee and the audience at the venue were shocked by the revelations.
