Diego Maradona: Argentine govt announces three days morning

The whole of Argentina will mourn the demise of football legend Diego Armando Maradona as the government declared a three-day national mourning.

The announcement was made by the office of the presidency on Wednesday following the death of the former Boca Juniors, Barcelona and Napoli hero.

“The President of the Nation will decree three days of national mourning from the day (of his death),” according to the statement.

Maradona passed away at the age of 60 on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, after suffering cardiac arrest in his home in Tigre.

Maradona was hospitalised after he had emergency surgery for a subdural haematoma, a blood clot on the brain.

He was discharged from the hospital in his home town after having successful surgery on November 12.

Since his death on Wednesday, tributes have poured in from across the world as star and legends including Pele, Andre Pirlo, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and others mourned the late legend.
