American rapper and business mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing another lawsuit from a new accuser who claims he belittled, terrorized, and sexually abused her while she also witnessed him violently assault his ex-girlfriend, Cassie.
Dawn Richard, a participant on Diddy’s 2004 MTV show “Making The Band,” filed the lawsuit alleging the music mogul manipulated her by promising to advance her singing career if she complied with his demands.
According to the lawsuit, Richard stated that during on-set auditions, Diddy called female contestants “fat,” “ugly,” “bitches,” and “hoes.” She claimed that Diddy particularly disliked her because she was young and eager to work with such a famous person.
Richard also described a 2005 incident where she saw Diddy’s former girlfriend, Kim Porter, leaving a music studio with a battered face. She said this made her realize Diddy was capable of violence and feared for her own safety.
The lawsuit further details that in 2006, Richard witnessed Diddy meeting Cassie for the first time and behaving in a predatory manner.
She claimed that in 2009, she saw Diddy—under the influence of drugs—throw Cassie against a wall, choke her, and drag her up a flight of stairs in his Los Angeles home.
Richard also alleged Diddy hurled a scalding pan of eggs at Cassie while yelling, “I’ve been asking you for my s**t; I can’t stand you, bitch, you never do it right!”
Richard claimed that on other occasions, Diddy punched Cassie in the face and tried to strangle her in his mansion.
She also mentioned that she and other artists, including Kalenna Harper, supported Cassie and advised her to leave Diddy.
When Diddy found out about the conversation, he allegedly threatened them, saying, “Y’all bitches don’t get in my relationship.
Don’t tell my bitch [Cassie] what she needs to be doing. Just make money and shut the f**k up. I end artists. I shelve careers. You could be missing. You bitches want to die today.”
Richard said she too became a victim of Diddy’s abuse. He allegedly forced her to rehearse for 48 hours straight without sleep, which caused her to lose weight, become dehydrated, and suffer from severe rashes.
She also recounted an incident when Diddy summoned her to his Miami home while only wearing underwear, and when she asked him to put on clothes, he screamed, “This is my f**king house!”
Between 2009 and 2011, Richard claimed Diddy’s mistreatment worsened. She described how Diddy once barged into her dressing room while she was naked at his recording studio and inappropriately touched her.
Richard also alleged that Diddy locked her in a car with heavily tinted windows for two hours as she screamed for help, even calling her father. Her father traveled from Baltimore to New York to rescue her and confronted Diddy, threatening to report him to the police.
However, Richard said Diddy told her father, “Think about your daughter” and “think about your daughter’s career.”
Diddy is currently facing five lawsuits filed by women alleging sexual abuse and assault. These accusations span over 30 years and include claims of sexual assault, trafficking, and other forms of abuse.
The legal troubles began prominently in November 2023 when his former partner, Cassie Ventura, filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault and abuse throughout their decade-long relationship.
Although this lawsuit was quickly settled, it prompted other women to come forward with similar allegations.
Following Cassie’s lawsuit, more claims surfaced. One woman accused Diddy of sexual assault the day after Cassie’s lawsuit, which Diddy denied. Liza Gardner filed a suit on November 24, 2023, alleging battery, sexual assault, and emotional distress from an incident in 1990 involving both Diddy and another musician.
April Lampros also accused Diddy of multiple instances of sexual assault from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s, including coercion and drugging.
In February 2024, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones filed a lawsuit that included serious allegations of sexual misconduct and trafficking involving underage girls.
These lawsuits reflect a broader pattern of accusations against Diddy, many stemming from the New York Adult Survivors Act, which allows victims to file claims regardless of the statute of limitations.
A video showing Sean “Diddy” Combs allegedly assaulting Cassie Ventura significantly impacted the landscape of sexual assault allegations against him.
Recorded in March 2016, the footage depicts Diddy chasing Cassie down a hotel hallway and attempting to drag her back to his room, aligning with her claims of a tumultuous and abusive relationship spanning a decade.
Following Cassie’s lawsuit in November 2023, which accused Diddy of rape, trafficking, and violence, additional lawsuits surfaced.
The video catalyzed other victims to come forward, claiming similar experiences of abuse, coercion, and manipulation by Diddy.
In light of the video and surrounding allegations, Diddy publicly acknowledged his behavior in the footage as “inexcusable,” marking a notable shift from his previous outright denials.
