Pascal Gabriel Dozie, the founder of the now-defunct Diamond Bank Plc, has died at the age of 85.
Reports say Dozie passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, April 8, 2025, after battling an age-related illness. His death came just one day before his 86th birthday.
Dozie was widely respected as a top businessman in Nigeria’s banking sector. He founded Diamond Bank, which was known for its innovation and customer-friendly services before it later merged with Access Bank.
He also served as Chairman of the bank before stepping down and handing over leadership to his son, Uzoma Dozie.
Pascal Dozie is survived by his wife, Chinyere Dozie, and five children, along with other relatives.
