A National Youth Service Corp member, identified as Eze James, has reportedly been arrested by the Lagos State Police during a mass raid in Bariga.
According to the narrative of a Twitter user, MeloMelo @umelojoe, the corp member was arrested in front of his house and is now in Ikoyi prison for a crime he is not aware of.
@umelojoe said when some NYSC officials went to Ikoyi prisons to bail James, the police refused his bail.

In a lengthy tweet thread, the Twitter user alleged that the arrest was carried out by the DPO who also collected the corp member’s identification card.
Read the tweets:
“A Corp member was arrested today at bariga in front of his house when policemen came for a mass arrest, even after He showed them his ID card they insisted and arrested him.
“Finally, they took them to Bariga station from Bariga station to court, from court to Ikoyi prison.
“When @nysc_ng officials reported at the prison for his release they refused his bail … Finally, he’s been locked up at Ikoyi prison for hours with no one to talk to. His name is EZE JAMES LA18B/2361.
“An illegal @PHCNnigeria connection was the reason for this mass arrest, So they raided the area and just arrested random people. I Doubt if this boy is a native of @lagosstategov.
“This arrest was made by the DPO himself, collected his ID card and still detained a serving Corp member? ?
“Do the @PoliceNG really engage in a proper and well-civilized orientation before employing most of their members? ?? An innocent soul is being bullied in prison right now
“The @nysc_lagos state coordinator this afternoon with some lawyers have been denied the right to at least bail the young man from the prison custody

“I actually don’t know this boy from anywhere but I feel for him? I wish I could help the poor boy
