France international and Paris Saint-Germain forward, Ousmane Dembélé, has been announced as the FIFA Best Men’s Player, emerging victorious at the awards ceremony held in Qatar on Tuesday.

Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmatí also picked up the top women’s award during the same event.

The 28-year-old attacker earned the accolade after an exceptional campaign with PSG, capped by the club’s maiden UEFA Champions League title.

Dembélé had previously collected the Ballon d’Or in September, underlining his remarkable performances over the past season.

Reacting to the recognition, the forward acknowledged the collective effort behind his success.

“I wanted to thank my teammates. Hard work pays off; it’s been a fantastic year for me, both individually and collectively,” he said.

The award ceremony was held a day before the Intercontinental Cup final between PSG and Brazilian side Flamengo, which is also taking place in Qatar.

In the women’s category, Bonmatí was once again recognised as FIFA Best Women’s Player, marking her third consecutive win.

The 27-year-old Spain international had earlier completed a hat-trick of Ballon d’Or titles in the autumn.

Despite her personal achievements, the latest honour follows a demanding season in which Bonmatí and her team narrowly missed out on titles in both the UEFA Champions League and the European Championship finals.

The FIFA awards were decided through a combined voting system involving fans, journalists, national team captains, and head coaches.
